Saudad

Connect Cursor

Cursor keeps context in rules, and its Memories feature was removed in version 2.1. Add Saudad to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, and every project shares one memory with Claude, Codex and your other agents.

Most apps sign in with the address alone. Some need an API key: create one in your dashboard, under Spaces and apps, with Create API key.

With a key, send the header Authorization: Bearer <your key>.

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, for every project, and sign in when Cursor asks:

Cursor configuration
{ "mcpServers": { "saudad": { "url": "https://saudad.ai/mcp" } } }

Or, with your key in SAUDAD_API_KEY:

Cursor configuration with a key
{ "mcpServers": { "saudad": { "url": "https://saudad.ai/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:SAUDAD_API_KEY}" } } } }

How Cursor remembers today

Updated , from the vendor’s own pages; each source shows the day it was read.

Cursor’s documentation is plain about it: language models don’t retain memory between completions, and rules provide the persistent context. Project rules live in .cursor/rules and are kept in version control, user rules apply across all your projects, and Cursor also reads AGENTS.md.[1]

Cursor used to have a Memories feature. Cursor staff say it was intentionally removed starting with version 2.1, and its documentation page now leads to rules.[2]

Rules are instructions you write and keep up to date. Saudad is a memory your agents fill as you work: add it once in ~/.cursor/mcp.json, the file for tools available in every project, and Cursor reads and saves to the same memory as your other agents.[3]

Questions

Does Saudad replace Cursor rules?

No. Rules are standing instructions you write for a project or for yourself. Saudad holds what your agents learn and you’d otherwise repeat in every project and app.

Every project, or just one?

~/.cursor/mcp.json adds Saudad to every project. A .cursor/mcp.json inside one project adds it to that project only.

Where did Cursor’s Memories go?

Cursor staff say the feature was intentionally removed starting with version 2.1. Rules, and memories kept outside Cursor such as Saudad, are what remain.

Has Saudad been tested with Cursor?

Not on this build yet. We mark an app as tested only once a test on the current build is recorded, and the connect page says so.

What does Saudad cost?

€9 a month billed yearly, or €12 monthly, VAT included, after a 14-day free trial with no card.
